STEP 2
PREPARE YOUR SURFACE

CLEAN YOUR WALLS
No matter which kind of substrate you are going to paint, it should be free from grease and dust and dry. Clean walls are the key in preparing your area for painting.

Use GLOBAL PAINT ALL CLEAN for an optimal result.

REMOVE MOLD
In case your substrate grows mildew, always remove it before you start painting. Otherwise, it will eventually always grow back.

SAND THE SURFACE
If your substrate has some cracked or flaked parts, make sure to remove any loose areas or flakes and scrape and sand the area well before applying a primer.  Paint cracking on walls and ceilings happen often due to bad preparation of a surface Sand the substrate with sandpaper or sanding block, and finish by wiping away the dust with a damp cloth.

REPAIR HOLES AND CRACKS
If there are some holes or cracks in your substrate, make sure to repair them before painting. Fill gaps and cracks with a filler agency. If your substrate contains some powdering areas, make sure to remove these disruptions accurately with GLOBAL PAINT AQUAFIX. Applying a layer of Aquafix will bond the powdering, chalking areas with the wall in order to improve the bonding of the paint.

MOISTURE AREAS
Is your surface exposed to extremely rough weather conditions such as a lot of rain, then we advise to finish your pre-treatment by applying one layer of VENTICRYL SILICONE FIX. This is an optimal impregnation agent for a rainproof basis.

STEP 3
PRIME YOUR WALL

COVER THE SURFACES
Use painters tape to mask off moulding, trim, windows and ceiling. Cover the floors with a drop cloth to protect them from paint drips and splatters. Move furniture out of smaller rooms. In larger rooms move the furniture to the center of the room and cover the pieces with more drop cloths.

ROLL ON THE PRIMER
Always use a primer to get the most out of your paint, especially if your walls are porous or have surface stains that need to be covered up. Primers are multifunctional and increase the durability of your paint.
Applying a primer first will disguise imperfections of your wall, improve bonding to the substrate, create a smooth surface and ensure a uniform finish. Stir the primer well before you start to use it. Dip the roller into the primer, making sure it is completely covered. Start applying the primer in 3x 3 foot sections with a fully loaded paint roller.
